    1. Had to re read something familiar that I loved, been trying new authors which can be a hit or miss type of thing.

    2. A surprisingly delightful story that starts the prologue 20 years prior to the main story We see Lady Chilton, Simone, packing up her three small children along with a locket for each of her daughters and for her son, the family ring of the Earls of Exmoor which belongs to the children s father Simone s plan is to bring the children to her trusted un named friend so she can get them safely out of Paris in the middle of the Revolution We meet Alexandra Ward, a wealthy American who runs the family [...]

    3. Average fare from Camp, who can write so much better I read book 3 first in the series which wasn t much better than this, book 1 I doubt, I ll get to book 2 any time soon My main gripe with this is the inappropriate conduct of the protagonists, so incongruous with the time American heroine and English lord hero go off together to a ball without a chaperone within a few hours of them meeting, without her aunt or mother objecting to the improper nature of such Then they have a prolonged exchange [...]

    5. I ve been binging on Candace Camp s back list and for the most part besides consistent editorial mistakes they are pretty good A Stolen Heart however is an excellent example of everything that is wrong in romance, boy I hated this book The male protagonist is a hateful abusive jackass and the female protagonist is an idiot There is nothing heroic about either of them I m not enad with American heroines in a Regency anyway, especially when they are rich business owners who are bossy know it alls [...]

    6. This book annoyed me I have been on historical romance kick this days and I have already read a couple of books by Candace Camp which I liked but this one was a Meh for me I won t spoil anything but lets just say that the whole plot is sooooo predictable it actually is painful The author make so mane amateurish mistakes with the plot and characters that I wandered if perhaps this was Ms Camp first book Is it the worst book I have read far from it It isn t even the worst historical romance but I [...]

    7. DNF I made it about 25% Hero invites and escorts the unrelated, unmarried Heroine to a ball the day they meet UNCHAPERONED sigh Alright, I can overlook a little anachronism But after she is attackedwhen she decides to walk home after he admittedly, temporarily leaves her at the ball aloned he can barely keep his dick in his pants at the sight if her torn dress and then gives her a well, what do expect walking alone at night lecture Nah, I m out, thanks.

    8. 4.5 starsNot just a romance It s a mystery, a thriller and romance A well written book with a strong female characters, although some are backstabbing and nurderous Well written I look forward to the rest in this series.

    9. I m giving this book a somewhat generous 4 stars to reward it for surprising me by being better than I expected I bought it cheap at a library sale to fill the summer reading shelf.

    12. I thoroughly enjoyed this book It had a great mystery with a twist The characters were wonderful. There was a very steamy sex scene but the book was not inundated with them a perfect balance.I m am looking forward to tracking down the next two in the series.

    13. This was an ok read for me, but I will not read it again It kept me reading because I wanted to know who was trying to kill heroine and I wanted answers to all the other questions I had So that part of book was ok But that was the only reason I kept reading Here s why I didn t care too much for it When hero and heroine meet he likes her character and personality and respects her strength and independence I really liked how he saw her as different but liked her because of it, I liked her because [...]

    14. After a series of books by Camp which I found a little disappointing, I thoroughly enjoyed this one The unexpected heroine with her wildly independent streak crossing horns with a slightly uncommon hero uncommon in his love of India etc makes a good read The suspense at the core of the tale is she the grand daughter or not is fairly well kept At some point it seemed a bit oh no, yet another attack ish, but at least it served to finally thaw the situation A fun read, I now need to acquire the nex [...]

    15. I m a big fan of Mrs Camp since I read Suddenly and she absolutely never has disappointed me and I ve read almost all of her books I love her humor and the way she makes the romance and plot develop I felt in love with the characters, especially Sebastian There are a lot of action in this book and although I agree that some situations are highly improbable I don t mind because I read romance books to have fun and this book is a lot of fun

    16. I wasn t quite sure if I would like this book at first I felt it started a little slow, but there was something compelling that kept me turning the pages While not one of my favorite novels by this author, I did enjoy the mystery and secrecy surrounding the heroine I find I can t wait to find out what happened to her siblings and if they will ever reunite.

    17. This is a fun read with an American, Alexandra Ward, arriving in London in 1811 Once she has met Lord Thorpe, both their lives become exciting Kidnappings, murder attempts, highwaymen and flights in hot air balloons Just imagine what happens when they end up in bedrooms together Lots of laughs for the reader along the way.

    18. I m not going to read the other two books, that s for sure __ But I wanted to know if John was still alive, so I kind of read the second book skipping a lot of text and I ve read the third book too __

    19. A stolen heart One of my favorites, Candace camp She writes books that reel you in and you find yourself lying on your bed like a fish on a bank, reading until you re writing a review There s romance, mystery, and great characters to keep you up til the last sentence.

    20. RHF book group is definitely refining my taste in HRde it 40 pages or so into this book and had to stop Too many anachronisms, even for just HR without the prowess of Grace Burrowes or Lisa Kleypas or Julia Quinn, never mind Stephanie Laurens.Soonto the latest Grace Burrowes book.

    21. I thought a surprising story I was not expecting the suspect I was expecting who Alexandra really was but was not expecting the person who was trying to destroy her Also did not think that Lord Thorpe would move in Looking forward to the next story.

    22. This book was my first for this author The writing was pretty easy to read and I just fell in love with Thorpe and Alexandra Their chemistry was pretty amazing I m looking forward to reading from this fabulous author.

    23. Quite a fun read I thoroughly enjoyed the character of Alexandra and the villain almost came as a total surprise to me I had a mere suspicion, which is very good

    24. This was a perfect summer reading book It was light, enjoyable, funny, and a little mysterious Much better than I expected it to be.

    25. Good story One of 3 books Each book is about 3 children that were thought dead but were not What happened to each child and how they found their grandmother All 3 books were origional.
