    1. Isaac Asimov

Isaac Asimov was a Russian born, American author, a professor of biochemistry, and a highly successful writer, best known for his works of science fiction and for his popular science books.Professor Asimov is generally considered one of the most prolific writers of all time, having written or edited than 500 books and an estimated 90,000 letters and postcards He has works published in nine of the ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal System lacking only an entry in the 100s category of Philosophy.Asimov is widely considered a master of the science fiction genre and, along with Robert A Heinlein and Arthur C Clarke, was considered one of the Big Three science fiction writers during his lifetime Asimov s most famous work is the Foundation Series his other major series are the Galactic Empire series and the Robot series, both of which he later tied into the same fictional universe as the Foundation Series to create a unified future history for his stories much like those pioneered by Robert A Heinlein and previously produced by Cordwainer Smith and Poul Anderson He penned numerous short stories, among them Nightfall , which in 1964 was voted by the Science Fiction Writers of America the best short science fiction story of all time, a title many still honor He also wrote mysteries and fantasy, as well as a great amount of nonfiction Asimov wrote the Lucky Starr series of juvenile science fiction novels using the pen name Paul French. Most of Asimov s popularized science books explain scientific concepts in a historical way, going as far back as possible to a time when the science in question was at its simplest stage He often provides nationalities, birth dates, and death dates for the scientists he mentions, as well as etymologies and pronunciation guides for technical terms Examples include his Guide to Science, the three volume set Understanding Physics, and Asimov s Chronology of Science and Discovery.Asimov was a long time member and Vice President of Mensa International, albeit reluctantly he described some members of that organization as brain proud and aggressive about their IQs He took joy in being president of the American Humanist Association The asteroid 5020 Asimov, the magazine Asimov s Science Fiction, a Brooklyn, NY elementary school, and two different Isaac Asimov Awards are named in his honor Isaac Asimov 2007, November 29 In , The Free Encyclopedia Retrieved 21 50, November 29, 2007, from enpedia wiki Isaac_As

    1. I erringly assumed that Asimov s The Last Answer must be a follow up to his brilliant short, The Last Question, and though these stories both share a similar theme, they are distinctly opposites, in both plot, structure, and also in artistry Whereas The Last Question is engrossing and profound, this short is dull and uninspired. The writing here was tedious to get through, and also lacked any surprise, suspense, or excitement to make it quantifiably interesting.

    2. Asimov made me think over the paradox of God and the possibilities of an endless meaningless existence in just 8 pages Great work, Asimov I am going to lose some sleep over your stories.

    3. This review will obviously have spoilers Its a short story, its impossible not to have spoilers The Last Answer by Isaac Asimov is about a man who dies and moves on to an eternal existance Is he now in heaven or hell We don t know What we do know is that there is another being there known as the Voice The whole story is based around the dialogue between the Voice and our protagonist, Murray Templeton.Similar to The Last Question, Asimov, through the dialogue between the Voice and Murray, discuss [...]

    4. I really enjoyed The Last Question by Asimov, but I feel The Last Answer is lacking in the cleverness and originality that made The Last Question really enjoyable for me I don t believe this short story is necessarily bad, but I feel that I was tricked into believing this short story would resemble or be as good as The Last Question because of the similar titles.

    6. A brief deliberation on the concept of eternity For some, life s value is derived from its limited quantity With that no longer being a limiting factor, from whence does life or consciousness derive meaning The Last Answer draws a surprising conclusion to this question.

    7. This could be much interesting story if The Last Question have not existed So to anybody who have not read this and that, I highly recommend first to read the answer and only then the question.

    8. The injustice to this story is in its title Do not put it in the same spot as The Last Question Appreciate the difference of plots, messages and arguments in the two stories, and overlook the seemingly trivial similarity in their titles.

    9. I greatly enjoy this story as an alternative view to The Last Question, It s an easy read which raises interesting questions about life and the nature of god if such a thing were to be real.

    10. Hmm, this short story wasn t as exciting as The Last Question It deals much with the metaphysical and philosophical, and kind of makes some assumptions about God and Man There are some logical paradoxes presented, such as God not being able to comprehend its beginning nor end, given the constant of infinity As a whole, I found it lacking in the creative department, although it was still a good read.To me, this short story felt like the movie Taken with Liam Neeson In Taken, Bryan Mills daughter [...]

    11. Asimov briefly considers the possibility of a higher power, what they might want, and why they might create humanity Philosophically nebulous, but well written.

    12. I have chosen you for your capacity for thought, as I choose others, in quadrillions, from all the intelligent species of the Universe Murray found himself suddenly curious, the habit of a lifetime He said, Do you choose them all yourself or are there others like you For a fleeting moment, Murray thought there was an impatient reaction to that, but when the Voice came, it was unmoved Whether or not there are others is irrelevant to you This Universe is mine, and mine alone It is my invention, my [...]

    14. Fav Quotes Then, too, although what I know is infinite, it is also true that what there is to know is infinite, and how can I be sure that both infinities are equal The infinity of potential knowledge may be infinitely greater than the infinity of my actual knowledge Here is a simple example If I knew every one of the even integers, I would know an infinite number of items, and yet I would still not know a single odd integer That sounds like a bit of Eastern philosophy something that sounds prof [...]

    15. The Last Question and The Last Answer Both of them makes you think deeper into the existence of god The vicious cycle of life and death One projects Man as the creator wanting to reverse the entropy and just start over Let there be light and other projects god as some eternal existence that just wants to end everything by using its own resource This Asimov s work is 24 years old and still makes you ponder Find an awesome analysis at lce asimov.weebly morality
