    1. YET ANOTHER MASTERPIECE BY REBECCA.Can not say to much without spoiling Just know that this series is truly everything to me.

    2. Little Disappointed I have LOVED this series Jocelyn is such a strong character, and Ilyan is great too I feel like if this author had an editor she could really shine this story doesn t need to be stretched into six books Compared to the strength of the first four books, this really felt like a self indulgent author excursion into the back stories of the supporting characters I can see that she loves these characters Maybe when the sixth book comes out I will see that this couldn t have been wr [...]

    3. I don t know about everyone else but I can t get into the idea of Joclyn with Ilyan I love her relationship with Ryland and even though so much has happened, I think they both deserve an end where they get each other I feel like the books will have no meaning to them if Jos and Ry don t have each other The books are great, don t get me wrong but to end it ideally i would have to say that Jos and Ry have to be together that is where their happiness is, because even after all the fighting and the [...]

    4. ohmygod I love this series so much I can t even comprehend Although I will not hesitate to trash it if one half of my otp dies seriously I won t fucking care all I want is for them to fucking live in a big house by the ocean where they ll spend the rest of their immortal days loving each other and ALIVE IN PEACE thankyouverymuch.full reviewsoonmaybe someday

    5. Phew.First, let me just say that every time I finish a book in this series, I have to take a second to take a deep breath and download because they take me through such an emotional wringer I get so lost in the story, and the writing consumes my heart and my mind and I literally feel like I ve run through a full roller coaster of emotions it s exhausting and a sign of some talented writing to accomplish that.So back to business After Soul of Flame see bottom of review for series read order was s [...]

    6. I know I know all the Imdalind fans are probably screaming at me like What is wrong with you Only 4 stars But alas it was only a 4 star read for me Sad to say the first half of the book kinda dragged It probably had to do with the fact that I had just finished reading Soul of Flame and quickly started Burnt Devotion So it kinda felt like I was reading the same thing over again just from Wyn and Ryland s point of view While I did like it it was just a bit too much for me all at once But once I go [...]

    7. YAY I have been waiting for this book and I finally got to read it It was DEFINITELY worth the wait Rebecca Ethington did not disappoint with book 5 of the Imdalind series, though I wasn t expecting her to It is an awesome addition to a great series. This book parallels parts of book 4, so if you haven t read it yet, you need to Wyn, Sain, and Ryland have escaped Edmund and are now with Ilyan and company Even though it parallels the book, it feels like you are reading events for the first time Bu [...]

    8. Wow I didn t want this to end I got so involved with the story and can t wait until the final book is out The Imdalind Series book 5 Burnt Devotion is the beginning of the end of the fight against Edmund This book has a lot of twists and turns and makes you wonder how Joclyn and Ilyan will come out of it The story follows Joclyn and Ilyan through the caves to Prague, but once they reach their destination the war begins Vil ys attacks them and humans, once a human is bitten, Edmund controls them [...]

    9. I was so excited to get my hands on this book, since it features my favorite character, Wyn Wow, Rebecca Ethington blew my mind yet again Even though the book is parallel to book 4 for the majority, it was awesome to see Wyn s perspective as the events unfolded I also appreciated just how much of a villain Ovalia really is, since the chapters from her point of view really bring this into focus Oh poor Ryland He is such a tortured soul He sure deserves a break, so I was glad to see the direction [...]

    10. 3.0 As much as I hate to say it, this one was my least favorite of the series It seemed to take me forever to finish Burnt Devotion basically reiterates the events in the Rioseco abbey, the tunnels, and Prague but in Wyn s, Ryland s and Ovalia s viewpoints Here are my thoughts I was thinking we would learn a lot about the relationship between Wyn and Thom Burnt Devotion didn t go into as much detail as I had hoped Nowhere near enough Ilyan Sain such a disappointment Knowing why Ryland and Ovali [...]

    11. Very good I loved all the different points of view in this book I made me loathe a couple characters , and fall in love with others I liked Ryland by the end and have hope for his future Sain and Ovalia can both drown in a sea of lava The end gave me hope for the ending of the next and last book, and also fear of what a certain man has up his sleeve It s going to be an exciting conclusion.

    12. I absolutely love this series I so can t wait for the next one and the final book I love how the characters are changing and coming into their own I can t wait to see how their stories end

    13. Burnt Devotion Imdalind Series Book 5 I think Wyn s character is so amazing, my heart broke for her when Talon died, and reading this book from Wyn s side and Wyn s own story from her past was just riveting I loved understanding Wyn Her experiences, emotions, and what made her into the woman she is today comes out in this book There are sides to her that I did not really see in the previous books and I am so glad that I got to delve into her I was also able to understand Thom s and her relation [...]

    14. I really love this series but I did not like all the repetitiveness I mean seriously half or than half was just retold from someone else s perspective It was really boring to me Then finally we got to a part of the story that was untold I hope the next installment is better than this Again the story line is great I just could not re read the same thing.

    15. Actual Rating 4.5 starsReview Characters Much like Scorched Treachery, this book in the Imdalind series is told from than one perspective In this book we see the world from not only Joclyn s POV but also from Wyn, Ryland, Ovalia, and Sain s Points of View In Wyn s chapters we see her struggle as she fights to figure out who she is now that she has her memories back I loved seeing her struggle and as she resolved these two parts of herself, getting help from Thom and other characters In Ryland s [...]

    16. Initial Reaction AndAndOh Rebecca Ethington you ve done it again You ve thrown a wrench into my perfect story and happily ever after and I just can t deal with it Burnt Devotion by Rebecca Ethington is the long awaited book five of the Imdalind series Originally this addition was going to be a novella told from Thom and Wyn s POV but it is SO much than that and it is AMAZING While our main characters Jocyln and Ilyan are present, but lacking perspective, we the readers take a trip in the minds [...]

    17. First posted at Words Fueled by Love.Burnt Devotion was initially slated to be a novella in the Imdalind series, and for whatever reasons, the author decided to make it book 5 in the series instead of a novella This book overlaps events from book 4, Soul of Flame, but adds an extra dimension to the story by focusing on the events of the soon to be battle in Spain between Ilyan s small, mostly dysfunctional, group and Edmund and his mass of followers, told from the POV s of Wyn, Ryland and Ovalia [...]

    18. Burnt Devotion was intended as a bonus novella dedicated to the story of Wyn and Thom While a majority of the book does back track, the plot does move forward with some interesting and heart stopping twists I have seen some complain that this book wasn t strictly necessary, and while that may be true for the first 50% of the book, I still loved getting to see these events through the eyes of the secondary characters that I love so much Burnt Devotion begins at the point in time of Joclyn healing [...]

    19. Burnt Devotion was suppose to be a novella about Wyn and Thom We were suppose to read about her, their relationship, and their past After the author started writing it, she decided to turn it into book 5.I have to say, this is my least favorite book in this series I will split this in two 1.what I didn t like, and 2 what I did like What I didn t like Around 50% of this book already happened in the Soul Of Flame Half of book 4, but told in Wyn and Ryland s point of view While I like Wyn, I don t [...]

    20. There will be Spoilers It was a long time since the last book, Soul of Flames Thankfully, we will not have to wait that long for Dawn of Ash, since it will came out this summer Yay.Initially, Burnt Devotion was supposed to be a novella about Wynn and Thom, in order for us to understand and know Wynn better So I thought that it would be about Wynn in the past, or some part of the novella about her past When she was with Thom, and had her daughter, what she did for Edmund and how she went to Ilyan [...]

    21. Okay I haven t written a review yet on this series, so I ll do a quick summary This series actually surprised me I was looking for a quick read after I had just finished reading the latest book from Brandon Sanderson so I was wanting something quick and easy not too deep What I found was something quite a bit different from what I expected Was it completely amazing and did it just knock my socks off No But, it did intrigue me enough to actually BUY go figure Books 2,3, 4 and 5 after getting the [...]

    22. Originally posted at I was provided an eARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.I hate myself for not loving this book The story did continue The character s are evolving I felt the twists and turns happening, but I just wasn t present for it all.I went into this thinking I d get the story from Jos or Ilyan and it ended up being Wyn and Ryland I dislike Ryland very much and I don t particularly want to be in Wyn s head I guess it was my own fault for not coming to terms with what I wan [...]

    23. Oh Author here I was losing faith thinking that it was time the muses had left you I said she can t possibly pull off another P.O.V successfully I apologize Not only did she pull it off but she kicked ass and took names Switching the main point of view between characters, she shows us their true nature Ovalia the villian, Rylan the tortured soul searching for peace and Wyn I m not sure where she lies at this point just kidding This book centers on the events that happened in the long awaited sta [...]

    24. Is it just me, or does the cover model for this book look kinda like Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer view spoiler My heart sank when I started this one and found that it was running parallel with events in the previous book, this time from the POV of Wyn, Ryland and briefly Ovailia Luckily, this didn t carry on for the entire book, maybe only for around the first third to a half While that may sound like a lot, it did actually make Ryland into a character with considerably depth than he ha [...]

    25. Oh my gosh This book was simply amazing I have been paying attention to every detail since book one because they give you some clues of what might be coming up and I wasn t disappointed at all Sain was one of those characters that from the moment they appeared you know they re not good at all no matter what they say and I wasn t wrong at all Winn it s one of those characters that you cannot stop reading about it because every passing page she gets even interesting Ryland it s a very broken soul [...]

    26. Wow I was really confused at the beginning of the book because my mind was set on the group being in the tunnel I thought that s where the book would pick up True to other reviewers words, that doesn t happen until approx 50% Once I realized what was going on, it wasn t so bad I did find myself skimming several times in the early part of the book, but after 50%, it was like a roller coaster ride.I had to brace myself for the things that the group was greeted with I felt the different POVs added [...]

    27. Still captivatedThere are really no other words I could use to portray my feelings and thoughts for this book and the series that I haven t already said It s just wonderful We finally see the strength we have been waiting for from our silney, the power both her and Ilyan share is awe inspiring. We see the story also from another character, Ovalia She is as wretched as we assumed I was hoping for her death, from the attack from Jocelyn, but no such luck They battle for their lives, to defeat or es [...]
