    1. Like the first book in this series, I found this one just to be an ok read for me personally It does have the potential to be amazing though The characters are solid and the writing style was nice, but I was just let wanting to know It didn t seem as if much were accomplished within the plot The main characters were continually setting out on some sort of mission, but in the sense of results from their missions, there were very few The characters just seemed to be running in circles with no res [...]

    2. Penn, the banished Fate, was the first person narrator of the first book In this one, Michaela, a Reaper takes over as the narrator She did show up as a character in the first book, as one of Penn s friends, but didn t play an especially large part in the story, so I was a little surprised that she took over here That she did became clear once the story got underway. Some humans have been dying before their time Named Surprises sudden death being of the nasty surprise than nice variety, methinks [...]

    3. I loved Penn in The Fate, and in The Fate I loved his reaper friend, Michaela I am happy that we get to live inside Michaela s friend in this part of the trilogy She is so compassionate and self aware, I feel motivated to evaluate my own actions I don t feel like I have anything to add about this book that has not been said here in the reviews If you loved the The Fate, you will love this one as well.

    4. In this second installment of the Children of Wisdom Trilogy, we re following the story as told by Michaela, a Reaper We pick up right before the first book left off, in the Weaver room I enjoyed this book as much as I did the first Will be reading the final book next.

    5. I normally love her books But found that Fates and The Reaper took a long time to get going and Reaper ended very disappointing clearly ready for a third to come out.

    6. What, you really expected me to read some other book next NOT WHEN THE HUMAN IS COMING OUT TOMORROW, MY FRIENDS I MUST BE PREPARED coughs But in all honesty, after the cliffhanger of THE FATE, there really wasn t anything else I wanted to read than this We take the reins behind Michaela, the Reaper friend of Penn s, for this book Cool This was going to be awesome Oh, poor naive me You thought you were getting something resolved.Michaela was one of my favorite sideline characters from THE FATE, [...]

    7. In all honesty, I was a bit nervous to start Stephanie Erickson s The Reaper, her latest installment of The Children of Wisdom series I am a huge fan of Ms Erickson s huge, HUGE fan , but I felt let down recently when I read book one of the series, The Fate I don t know what it was for sure, but I do know that there were aspects of The Reaper that made me realize what I was missing from my perception of The Fate. When I started The Reaper, I was afraid that it would miss that mark The mark that M [...]

    8. We only fail if we give up Kindle Location 2005.Penn is back, but it is Michaela the Reaper who tells the story in this second installment of the Children of Fate The surprises that have shown up on the Reaper s lists for weeks now, keep on coming Who is cutting lives short Michaela found these surprise souls in a limbo prison in hell and not in heaven where they belong She can t fix this by herself, so she gets Penn and the other Fates to help her get to the bottom of the mystery Is it too late [...]

    9. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review This is the second in the series of the children of wisdom by Stephanie Erickson I have just barely started reading this authors books and can I just say WOW I read tons and tons of books and have only read from authors I like to read I took a chance with the first one in this series The Fate and loved it Now The Reaper has set a new high record for me as the most wicked cliffhanger that is about to drive me nuts until I can read book 3, [...]

    10. received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review Wow, this was not what I was expecting.I didn t read the synopsis or what other reviewers were saying, which is why I was caught off guard when the story took on a different POV At first I was a bit saddened because I was so looking forward to Penn, but almost immediately afterwards, I quickly took to being in Michaela s mind, the reaper who helps Penn in book one A little different, much reserved than my favorite heavenly being, [...]

    11. I received this book in exchange for my honest review I m a bit torn with this one I loved the first book in this series, The Fate, which focused on Penn This one focuses on Michaela, The Reaper The characters are all well thought out and fully developed and it makes it very easy to connect with them My issue is the ending I dislike cliff hangers, but for a good book I ll deal which I did with The Fate luckily Stephanie has a wonderful way of leaving you with a cliff hanger, but still giving yo [...]

    12. What a unique, wonderful storyline This is book 2 in the series trilogy In this book, we follow the e exploits of Michaela, the reaper POSSIBLE SPOILERS In order to help the souls that are inexplicably having their life threads cut short by an unknown person force, Michaela relies on banished returned Fate, Penn to find out whatever he can while she continues to reap souls including surprise additions She knows that good souls are being held in a prison purgatory just inside hell, but has to fin [...]

    13. First, the legalitiesI received an advance copy of this book from the author for an honest review Now onward I really liked The Reaper better than The Fate although that was very good This time, the story is continued through the eyes of Michaela, the reaper friend of Penn the fate There s something fishy going on human lives are being shortened than they were originally supposed to be Some reapers are committing mutiny maybe going on strike would be a better phrase Oh, and Michaela, Penn, and c [...]

    14. I received this book for free in exchange for a review of the book.I had a little trouble when I first started to read this book, it is the second in a series, the first one being The Fate, with one coming out in June, knows as The Human The reason I had trouble was the first book was told by Penn, a Fate banished for spinning a thread that did not work The nest one is where Michaela steps in She continues the story forward from where she brings Penn back to Heaven after he is banished to earth [...]

    15. I like that this story was told through Michaela point of view She was an interesting character in The Fate and we get to learn about her, the responsibilities of a Reaper and the consequences of not doing them It all helps to form the bigger picture for the story There were hints that Michaela was so much than just a reaper and we kind of get to see that during the story We are also introduced to some new characters that I am hoping will make another appearance in the next book.To be honest I [...]

    16. The first book was about Penn, the Fate that spun the threads of life When he falls in love with one of his creations and makes a horrendous mistake, God banishes him to earth There he manages to meet the woman he had fallen in love with, as well as the soul mate he had created for her He can t imagine being happier Then they both die before their time Something has gone terribly wrong. In this second book, we follow the Reaper who discovers that there is going on than just people dying before t [...]

    17. I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.A great new addition to the series I couldn t put this book down I had to know how the story continued The story picks up where The Fate leaves off We now see the plot from the POV of the reaper, Michaela The action never lets up and when you think it can t get better, it does I loved the roller coaster that it takes you on and leaves you hanging with an awesome cliffhanger You are just clamoring to see where this story goes n [...]

    18. I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review This is the second book in a trilogy, and as such it ends in a cliffhanger I will be eagerly waiting for the third and final book in the series The Reaper focuses on the continuing saga of heavenly beings amidst a problem occurring in the heavens A large portion of this story is based in hell, and I found the authors descriptions of hell both interesting and terrifying I m giving it four out of five mainly because it [...]

    19. I received an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Continuing the Children of Wisdom series, book two The Reaper doesn t disappoint It is told in from the perspective of the Reaper, Michaela She and the banished Fate Penn gather allies, both heavenly and earth bound, in order to put a stop to the rash of surprises popping up on the Reapers list These are the poor souls who ve had their threads cut all too prematurely This book literally takes you to hell and back, r [...]

    20. Michaela is a reaper She helps humans leave this world and transition to the next She makes a startling discovery that changes everything Pure souls are being stolen and imprisoned She needs to rescue them Can she and the Fates save those souls being tortured This exhilarating adventure continues the story that started in The Fate This is an incredible series filled with unforgettable characters and an intriguing plot The vivid imagery pulled me into the story I couldn t stop reading Be aware th [...]

    21. I received this as an ARC for an honest review.WOW this one had me engulfed from the moment I started reading The writing flow of this portion of the series flowed so well It is a good 4 4.5 Star read for me.Michaela is the Reaper that must go and collect all of the souls I loved how you could really feel the empathy she felt every time she had to go retrieve someone She truly has a beautiful soul, not sure if that is possible but you get what I m trying to say I hope. The plot of this story just [...]

    22. Stephanie Erickson is one of my favorite storytellers Her stories are compelling and suspenseful When I read The Fate, it was unlike any of her other books and I couldn t wait for the next installment The Reaper was even better I loved this second of the trilogy Michaela is an engrossing character and I was so into the story, I didn t notice I was near the end until I hit it I turned the page and saw Coming Soon and I literally gasped What I was so involved in the book, the end snuck up on me Lu [...]

    23. This book is told by Michaela one of Heaven s Reapers There have been people dying that it s not their time as determined by the Fates They call them suprises and there have been quite a few of them Between her, the exiled Fate Penn and the other Fates they set out to figure out why this is happening We follow a few trips to Hell as they set about righting the wrong This does end in a cliffhanger as did the Fate but I look forward to the next one If you haven t read the Fate you need to read it [...]

    24. I received this book for free for my honest review This book did not disappoint After reading the first book, this one just fell in step The decision to change the first person character for this book was a genius idea it adds so many extra layers to read from a different perspective I was on the edge of my seat, then the cliffhanger, which only strengthens my desire to get my hands on the next book Only a few months away I highly recommend this book, and book 1 The Fate Any lover of fantasy wil [...]

    25. The second book in the Children of Wisdom series comes out swinging hard It is unusual to find a sequel that surpasses the original story but M s Erickson manages to weave the threads of storytelling beautifully The return of these characters sees them trying to avert disaster in Hell the best way they know how The book starts strong and continues fast paced This is one you won t be able to put down The story will capture your interest immediately and leave you craving .

    26. I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. The Reaper is the second book in the Children of Wisdom series Very intense at times but a thrilling read The characters, Heavenly beings, take a harrowing journey down below to the pits of Hell to rescue souls who are trapped and don t belong there The plot is very gripping and the writing is awesome Ms Erickson is a master story teller Can t wait for the next installment to find out how the story concludes

    27. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review Oh my, I couldn t wait for this book to come out so I could find out about what happened to Kismet, Andrew and Penn This book kept me guessing and cheering and cringing and crying all at the right moments I applaud Stephanie Erickson and her writing I have not been disappointed with one of her books yet and don t expect to be in the future Looking forward to the next book in the trilogy.

    28. possibly 2.5 the progression of the story is slow the ending was a cliffhanger unconclusive unsatisfying Webber s stay in hell felt unnecessary this prequel suffered middle book syndrome had a few questionable moments like why is God not even helping just giving some pep talk or something why are the angels just letting things happen right there in heaven WHY possibly a mini review soon

    29. Must read Let me start off by saying I received a free advanced copy in return for an honest review I read the book and loved the character development In fact I loved the book so much I felt obligated to purchase a copy anyway after its release Yes I finished reading my free copy but enjoyed the story and characters so much I felt the need to reward the author by purchasing it anyway I feel the book is that good Buy it and you will agree
