    1. A.M has done a fantastic job with The Joy Thief Aeryn and Theo face separate but entwined challenges that will keep you on the edge of your seat The young Theo is mature than her age suggests, but there are moments where you still see the child within A.M weaves these moments together seamlessly I love the depth of character Aeryn shows She s amazing with a blade, but isn t arrogant or over confident A.M takes the time to reveal moments of self doubt that serves to add to the dynamic character [...]

    3. From the opening sentence, Funny how a day could turn on you, I was pulled into the story of The Joy Thief This is a dark tale that pulls from myth and bedtime story, but not one of the old and worn out ones, but a new one of the author s invention A M Rycroft makes the reader care what happens to the characters, as any such tale should do, from ten year old Theo, to Aeryn, her older, experienced adventure companion and de facto guardian Theo is on her own at times in this story, but always not [...]

    4. I received an electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review A.M Rycroft never disappoints I love reading her work because she transports her readers from standard dark fantasy fare to places few authors could dare even attempt She deftly weaves multiple layers, characters, and locations into one cohesive and richly appointed tapestry Aeryn Ravane s saga continues on in the fine fashion Rycroft established in the previous novels while presenting fresh character facets and adventur [...]

    5. A.M Rycroft does not disappoint with the third book in her series The story moves so effortlessly, you don t realize how far you ve gone in the book as you read, which can hardly be said about most books The scenes move seamlessly into the next as you are transported to a fictional land My favorite part of the book is the cast of strong female characters self sufficient, strong, and not female attempts at heroism I highly recommend this book, as well as all the others in the series

    6. Though this is the third book in a series, the story is easy to jump into and follow out of order The map in the front cover offers a fun way to follow the characters journey. The action moves along with two, strong female characters Aeryn the guardian, and Theo the young girl in her charge Both characters are fully developed and interesting, their backstories added depth while keeping the action moving.Rycroft has a knack for ending each chapter on a suspenseful note While some fantasy gets bogg [...]
